How to extract my transactions from Poloniex for tax calculation and portfolio management?
The first step is to download all of your Poloniex transactions and store them in CRPTM. This can be done by connecting your Poloniex read-only API keys (API Key, API Secret) to CRPTM. Once integrated, CRPTM will compute your Poloniex crypto taxes based on your location and generate an EOFY tax report in just under a few minutes! All you have to do is download the Tax Statement from CRPTM and submit it to your local tax authority- you’re all sorted!
How to get your API Keys on Poloniex?
- Login to your Poloniex account
- Head over to the top-right corner of the homepage. You will notice a profile icon- click on it.
- Then click on “More Settings”
- You’ll be directed to a new page. Click on “API Keys” on the top left of the navigation bar.
- Click on the “Create New Key” button - an email will be sent to your registered email address, and you need to confirm if you really want to create new API keys.
- A new page will open up displaying your new API Key and Secret. Before proceeding, make sure that you disable the “trading” option by unchecking the “Enable Trading” box. This will also ensure that your API keys have read-only access.
- Copy the new API Key and Secret
How to integrate Poloniex to CRPTM via API?
- Login to your CRPTM account
- Head over to the “Account” section on the top navigation bar of the page.
- Click on “Add Account” from the drop-down menu.
- Type “Poloniex” in the “Add Account” search field, or click on “Poloniex” from the list of exchanges mentioned below it.
- Enter or paste the new API key onto the API Key box section.
- Enter or paste the new API Secret onto the Secret Key box section.
- Click on “Connect Account”
And you’re all set! Poloniex is now connected to CRPTM!
Here’s some good to know information for you.
Sync time may take a few minutes if you send CRPTM data via API integration, especially if you have a lot of transactions. Once your data is synced, you'll see it in the “My Accounts” section. You can check the accuracy of the export of your Poloniex transactions by comparing the transactions in your CRPTM portfolio with those in your account history on the Poloniex website.
